The Cederberg area is unique in that it comprises an untouched Karoo-like wilderness where guests will find beautiful wild flowers and small critters that are scarcely seen in other parts of the country. Kagga Kamma is equally unique in that it offers guests experiences and facilities that are close to nature. Choose from a variety of accommodation types which include our "Cave" Suites, the Star Suite and Outcrop Open Air Rooms and spacious Hut Suites.
Kagga Kamma Nature Reserve offers unique excursions and fun activities such as Rock Art Tours, guided Nature Drives and Quad Bike Safaris, Hiking trails and Stargazing at the mini Observatory. Relax at the Resort's swimming pool while marvelling at the surrounding rock formations; or enjoy a sundowner as the sky changes colour in the late afternoon.. The Spa offers wellness treatments to relax and rejuvenate and of course, the spectacular landscape provides for the most remarkable views and astonishing backdrops at every turn, with subtle highlights as each day and season proceeds.
Star Suite - Open Air Room
Kagga Kamma now offers a brand new, natural Open Air Room at a private platform set about three kilometers from the Main Lodge, between the most astonishing rock formations overlooking the fynbos plains. At the new open air room, you and your partner can fully immerse yourselves in the wonders and sounds of the wilderness; the call of the jackal, the chatter of the birds and the sound of wind through the rock formations.
The highlights – the glittering Milky Way is your ceiling and of course the spectacular African sunset and sunrise. Aside from the adventure of being outside in the middle of a Nature Reserve at night, you are by no means roughing it – with a proper queen-size bed, cozy bedding, a natural rock pool and a “star bath”!

Updated with all the latest features, the Celestron Nexstar 8SE is an amazing telescope that ensures a remarkable stargazing experience at Kagga Kamma.
Rock Art Tour
Take a journey back in time with our Rock Art Tour of paintings dating back 6000 years. Ancient rock art sites can be found all over Kagga Kamma Nature Reserve. These paintings were made with different colours of stone which was ground up and mixed with fat to form paint. The Reserve has expertly trained rangers who can help guests find and understand these paintings and provide more information on this fascinating culture. Guests can also expect to discover some paintings themselves along the hiking and walking trails.
